October Half Term Hockey Camp - Mike Leatt Reports  MONDAY 24 OCTOBER 2011– We were so lucky; the rain stayed away and we worked through many skills in the morning. We even tried out aerials. Everyone recorded performance or excellence level at the stix skills challenge in the afternoon and enjoyed the match. Abi Porter was assistant coach before she went off to play in the Futures Cup, and Dave Harris also helped with the afternoon proceedings. August Hockey Summer Camp a Great Success – Mike Leatt reports  SUMMER HOCKEY CAMP The Firebrands Summer Hockey Camp struck lucky with the weather (ie no rain!) and proved a great success for young players from all over North Somerset, Bristol and as far afield as Taunton. With 25 players each day, the pitch was a hive of activity; skills in the morning and game play and skills tests in the afternoon. Our up and coming young players, Molly Coombes and Abi Porter were both excellent coaches and to have 2 qualified umpires, including Andy Bessant, oversee the afternoon procedures was a great bonus. Several of the players not attached to a club were interested in continuing hockey through junior training and received an information leaflet.
