| He
was probably the greatest man I will ever meet. I will remember his phenomenol
humour, his integrity and his simple-minded passion for Firebrands.
He believed in being totally honest, with players and liked nothing more
than sitting in the clubhouse drinking coffee while ribbing them and they
were delighted by the banter with him.

Jim Martin (Obituary in the Evening Post)
Keith Boards service to sport wasn’t restricted to hockey, however.
His other great love was Blagdon Cricket Club where he started playing
as a 14 year old and rose to become 1st team skipper. He had been Chairman
for 20 years up to his death.
He also played a part in the development of young Somerset talent as Manager
of the Countys Under 18’s for two years.

I remember he took us on a tour to Scotland which was great fun and very
successful. Keith was not just a good Coach but he always made the game
enjoyable for the lads and the loved him for it.
