Academy Training

Training times for the 2017-18 season are below. 

Flares (U10 Mixed) - Monday’s; 18:00-19:15 at Failand - First session will be on Monday 11th September

Sparks (U12 Girl's) - Tuesday’s;  17:30-19:00 at Failand 

Flames (U14 Girl's) - Tuesday’s; 17:30-19:00 at Failand 

Sparks (U12 Boys) – Sundays 10:30-12:30 at Failand (Outdoor) - Season will start with the Academy Camp on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of September

Sparks (U12 Boys) - Thursday 7-8pm at Gordano indoor sports centre (NEW)

Flames (U14 and U16  Boys) – Sundays 10:30-12:30 at Failand (Outdoor) -  Season will start with the Academy Camp on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of September

Flames (U14 and U16  Boys) -Thursday 7-8pm at Gordano indoor sports centre (NEW)

Goalkeepers

Goalkeepers train with their own age groups and, in addition, we offer specialist Goalkeeping coaching sessions with Richard Major; England Hockey Goalkeeper Silver Award for coaching.

Cancellations

Firebrands Hockey Club will endeavour to run training sessions in all weathers however, in circumstances of extreme conditions such as snow, frozen pitches or heavy fog, we may have to cancel. Announcements will be made on this website, on our Facebook page and via Twitter so please check either of these if you have any doubts.

Terms of Training

As you will be aware, the area in and around the clubhouse can be a dark and dangerous place during the winter time. Firebrands are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of your child and require you to note the following arrangements for drop of and collection of your child for our training sessions.

  • All children are to be dropped off at the signposted ‘Registration Point’ at the side of the pitch.
  • All children are to be picked up at the end of each training sessions at the signposted ‘Collection Point’ at the side of the pitch.
  • During registration, all children will be asked who will be collecting them. In the occurrence of a person arriving to collect your child that they are not expecting, we will contact you to confirm that this is authorised.
  • With training being once a week, please make every effort to attend. If you are unable to attend please give your coach a minimum of 48 hours notice.
