Firebrands Juniors

Junior Training takes place at Firebrands pitch in Failand.  All participants are expected to have a gum shield to wear, protective ankle guards, footwear for an outdoor sport on an artificial surface and suitable clothing for an outdoor activity.  Sticks can be provided if prior notice is given.

Training times

Monday 6pm - 7pm  Boys academy training Yrs 9 and above, Mini training mixed.  Yrs 6 and below.

Tuesday 6.15pm - 7.15pm Girls academy training Yrs 9 and above. Yrs 8 and below by invitation.     Junior mixed training Yrs 7 and above

Academy training is available to talented young players aged 14 (yr 9) - 16 (yr 11).  Players in year 9 and below by invitation only.

At Firebrands HC we recognize the need to develop talent through structured coaching and player mentoring in a safe and friendly environment. All our coaches are recognised by England hockey and are well experienced in positively encouraging junior players to develop and work on their core skills. 

We provide competitive opportunities via Avon Junior Hockey Leagues at Under 11, U13 and U15 levels in which we have an impressive record with the U15 girls retaining the league title again last season and the boys finishing runner ups.

U15 league winners and runners up U15 Captain Holly Simpson, Player of the finals day Maddi Wilkiins and Top goal scorer Rebakah Walker. As a club we recognise the new England Hockey Single System and support players on the EH Player Pathway.
